- 3–4 lb top round beef roast (room temperature)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional for thickening)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Season the beef roast with salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
- In a large oven-safe pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the roast on all sides until browned.
- Add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the pan.
- Cover and roast in the oven for about 90 to 120 minutes, or until desired doneness.
- Remove the roast from the oven, cover, and let it rest.
- For the gravy, strain the liquid from the pan into a saucepan, adding cornstarch if desired to thicken.
- Serve the roast sliced with gravy drizzled on top.
Notes
Serve with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
