Description

A delightful treat that combines soft white chocolate cake with a creamy cheesecake center, perfect for special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 egg (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake layer)
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • Chocolate frosting (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt; set this mixture aside.
  3. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed butter and sugar, alternating it with the milk, until just combined.
  5. Beat together the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth for the cheesecake center.
  6. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pans. Spoon the cheesecake mixture over the batter, then divide the remaining batter on top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Frost the cakes with chocolate frosting and sprinkle with shredded coconut and chopped pecans before serving.
