Description

A delightful salad combining stale bread with fresh vegetables, creating a burst of flavors.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups stale bread, torn into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cucumber, chopped
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  1. Tear the stale bread into bite-sized pieces and place in a large bowl.
  2. Chop the ripe tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion, and add them to the bowl.
  3. Tear fresh basil leaves and add them in.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and red wine vinegar, then season with salt and pepper.
  5. Toss everything together until well mixed.
  6. Let it sit for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
