Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole chicken
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • Wood chips for smoking

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
  2. Rinse the chicken and pat it dry.
  3. Rub the entire chicken with olive oil, then season it with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Let the chicken sit for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  5. Place the wood chips in the smoker.
  6. Put the chicken in the smoker and smoke for about 4-5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Experiment with different wood chips like hickory or applewood for varied flavors. Consider brining the chicken before seasoning for extra moisture.
