Description

Delightful snack combining soft, chewy pretzels with gooey melted mozzarella cheese, perfect for parties or movie nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour and salt, then mix until a dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Divide the dough into pieces and flatten. Place mozzarella sticks in the center, fold the dough over, and roll into a pretzel shape.
  6. Bring 8 cups of water and baking soda to a boil in a pot. Boil pretzels for 30 seconds on each side.
  7. Place pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces like mustard or marinara.
