Description

A comforting dish that combines the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak with freshly baked bread, perfect for a quick dinner or appetizer.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 lb ground beef (or leftover sliced steak)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter for spreading

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the onion, garlic, and bell pepper in a skillet over medium heat until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef (or sliced steak) to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and hollow out the center.
  5. Fill the bread with the beef mixture and top with provolone cheese.
  6. Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and spread butter on the crust.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
  8. Slice and serve warm.
