- 1 loaf French bread
- 1 lb ground beef (or leftover sliced steak)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for spreading
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sauté the onion, garlic, and bell pepper in a skillet over medium heat until softened.
- Add the ground beef (or sliced steak) to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cut the French bread in half lengthwise and hollow out the center.
- Fill the bread with the beef mixture and top with provolone cheese.
- Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and spread butter on the crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
Serve warm and pair with a dipping sauce like marinara or creamy ranch dressing. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
