A fun and healthy alternative to store-bought snacks, homemade watermelon jerky allows you to control the flavors and ingredients.
Ingredients
- Watermelon
- Optional: sugar or sweetener
- Optional: lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your dehydrator or oven to the lowest setting, usually around 140F (60C).
- Cut the watermelon into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
- If desired, sprinkle sugar or drizzle lemon juice over the slices for added flavor.
- Place the watermelon slices on dehydrator trays or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Dehydrate for 360-480 minutes until the watermelon is dry but still slightly flexible.
- Let cool before storing in an airtight container.

Choose a ripe watermelon for the best flavor. Try different spices to customize your jerky.
