- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp chopped green onions
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- Pinch cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Crescent dough or puff pastry
- 1 beaten egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients: Remove cream cheese from the fridge to soften, shred cheese, and chop add-ins.
- Make filling: In a bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded cheddar, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, salt, and pepper until uniform.
- Prep dough: Unroll crescent dough into triangles or roll out puff pastry and cut into squares. Place a spoonful of filling on each piece.
- Seal and shape: Roll triangles or fold squares, pinching edges tight. Chill poppers for 5–10 minutes before baking.
- Egg wash: Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle extra cheese if desired.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool and serve: Let rest for a few minutes before serving warm with dipping sauces.
