- 10 slices soft white or whole wheat sandwich bread
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the griddle or skillet over medium heat.
- Mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the filling in a small bowl.
- Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
- Spread a thin layer of melted butter on each slice and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Roll up each slice tightly and secure with a toothpick if needed.
- Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and salt in another bowl.
- Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, making sure it’s coated well.
- Place the roll-ups seam side down on the preheated griddle.
- Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with maple syrup.
