Description

Ingredients

  • 10 slices soft white or whole wheat sandwich bread
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the griddle or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the filling in a small bowl.
  3. Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin.
  4. Spread a thin layer of melted butter on each slice and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  5. Roll up each slice tightly and secure with a toothpick if needed.
  6. Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and salt in another bowl.
  7. Dip each roll-up in the egg mixture, making sure it’s coated well.
  8. Place the roll-ups seam side down on the preheated griddle.
  9. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with maple syrup.
