Description

A delightful treat that combines the crispy texture of toffee with the warm flavors of churros, perfect for snacks or desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package of saltine crackers
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place the saltine crackers in a single layer.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring until it bubbles. Add the vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Pour the mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove it and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let it sit for a few minutes and then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
  5. Mix the powdered sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle it over the chocolate layer. Allow it to cool and harden before breaking it into pieces.

Notes

Churro Toffee is best served in bite-sized pieces. For a twist, pair it with a warm drink like coffee or hot chocolate.
