- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 package of saltine crackers
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place the saltine crackers in a single layer.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring until it bubbles. Add the vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then remove it and sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Let it sit for a few minutes and then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
- Mix the powdered sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle it over the chocolate layer. Allow it to cool and harden before breaking it into pieces.
Notes
Churro Toffee is best served in bite-sized pieces. For a twist, pair it with a warm drink like coffee or hot chocolate.
