Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 23 finely chopped jalapeños
  • ¾ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Barbecue sauce for glazing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, bread crumbs, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Using your hands, mix until well combined, then form into small meatballs (about 1 inch in diameter) and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. If desired, brush with barbecue sauce during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  6. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and serve warm.

Notes

Adjust the heat level of the jalapeños to suit your taste. These poppers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
