Description

A delightful blend of rich chocolate cake and smooth caramel mousse, perfect for special occasions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
  3. Mash the ripe bananas in another bowl and add eggs and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely.
  7. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  8. Fold the whipped cream into caramel sauce and spread over the cooled cake.
  9. Top with additional caramel sauce and banana slices for garnish.
  10. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.

Notes

Use ripe bananas for better sweetness. Make sure to chill the mousse layer for a couple of hours before serving.
