Description

Moist and chocolatey bars made with ripe bananas, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas (about 400 g)
  • 100 g (½ cup) unsalted butter, melted
  • 150 g (¾ cup) brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 5 g (1 teaspoon) vanilla extract
  • 200 g (1½ cups) all-purpose flour
  • 5 g (1 teaspoon) baking soda
  • 2 g (½ teaspoon) salt
  • 150 g (1 cup) chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas until smooth. Stir in the melted butter, then mix in the brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Sprinkle the flour, baking soda, and salt over the wet mixture. Stop as soon as no dry flour is visible. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Spread it evenly. Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  5. Remove the pan from the oven and let the bars cool for at least 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Avoid overmixing to prevent dense bars. You can prepare the batter overnight for baking in the morning.
