Description

Delicious skewers featuring frozen meatballs coated in a sweet and savory grape jelly and ketchup glaze, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 frozen meatballs
  • 1 cup grape jelly
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 24 pieces of bowtie pasta
  • 24 fresh basil leaves
  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Toothpicks or small bamboo skewers

Instructions

  1. Heat the frozen meatballs according to the package directions until fully cooked.
  2. Combine grape jelly and ketchup in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir constantly and bring to a boil for 1 minute, then reduce heat to simmer.
  3. Add heated meatballs into the sauce and let simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Cook the bowtie pasta until al dente, drain and rinse with cold water, then let dry.
  5. Toss cooled pasta with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Assemble skewers by threading one piece of bowtie pasta, one basil leaf, and one meatball onto each toothpick.
  7. Arrange skewers on a platter and serve immediately or keep warm until ready to enjoy.

Notes

Small swaps can increase fiber and lower sodium. Consider using lean turkey meatballs and whole-grain pasta for healthier options.
