Description

A quick and easy Swedish Meatball Pasta Bake combining hearty pasta with savory meatballs, topped with a gooey layer of cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 1 lb frozen Swedish meatballs
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, cook pasta al dente according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a skillet, sauté onions and garlic in olive oil until translucent, then add meatballs and brown slightly.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta, sautéed mixture, beef broth, heavy cream, half of the shredded cheese, dried parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish, top with the remaining cheese, and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  6. Garnish with additional parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

For a creamier texture, stir in 1/4 cup of sour cream before baking.
