Description
A quick and delicious Steak with Onion & Pepper Gravy that brings together savory flavors in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the steak with salt and pepper, then cook in the skillet to your desired doneness (about 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare). Remove the steak and let it rest.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and bell pepper. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with a little water and add it to the gravy, stirring to combine.
- Slice the rested steak and serve on a plate topped with the onion and pepper gravy. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Avoid overcrowding the skillet for even cooking. Let the steak rest after cooking for best results.
