Description

Soy-Glazed Beef Rice Bowl is a quick and flavorful meal packed with protein and vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Beef:
    • 1 pound flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
    • 1/4 cup soy sauce
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
    • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • For the Rice Bowl:
    • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
    • 1 cup broccoli florets (steamed)
    • 1 cup carrots (sliced or shredded)
    • 1/2 cup green onions (sliced)
    • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
    • Sriracha or chili paste (optional, for spice)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  2. Add the sliced flank steak to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to 1 hour for more flavor).
  3. In a large skillet or wok, heat a little oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the marinated beef to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 3–4 minutes on each side, or until the beef is browned and cooked through. If using cornstarch, sprinkle it over the beef during the last minute of cooking to thicken the sauce.
  5. In serving bowls, place a generous scoop of cooked rice as the base.
  6. Top the rice with steamed broccoli, sliced carrots, and cooked soy-glazed beef.
  7. Sprinkle sliced green onions and sesame seeds on top. Drizzle with Sriracha or chili paste if desired.
  8. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Adjust the marinating time to enhance flavor.
  • Use any vegetables you prefer in the rice bowl.
