Description

A flavorful and easy-to-make recipe combining hard-boiled eggs, savory sausage, and zesty onions in a tangy pickling liquid.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 cup cooked sausage, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Ingredients: Start with 6 hard-boiled eggs. If you haven’t boiled them yet, place them in a pot, cover with water, bring to a boil, then simmer for 9-12 minutes. Transfer them to an ice bath to cool.
  2. Make the Pickling Liquid: In a saucepan, combine vinegar, water, salt, sugar, and black peppercorns. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Jar: In a clean jar, layer the garlic, onion rings, sliced sausage, and hard-boiled eggs on top.
  4. Assemble and Chill: Pour the hot pickling liquid over the layered ingredients, seal the jar, and let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
  5. Wait It Out: Chill for at least 24 hours before serving.

Notes

Store pickled eggs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for optimal freshness. They can be stored for up to 2 weeks.
