Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound green beans, trimmed
- 4 slices bacon, chopped
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
- Lemon juice (optional)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the fat in the pan.
- Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet over medium heat and let it warm for about a minute.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Stir in the trimmed green beans and minced garlic, sauté until the green beans are tender yet vibrant, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and stir well.
- Finally, stir in the crispy bacon and combine thoroughly, drizzle with lemon juice if desired before serving.
Notes
To retain a snap in your green beans, avoid overcooking. They should be bright green and slightly tender.
