Description

A quick and delicious sautéed green beans recipe with crispy bacon and earthy mushrooms, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound green beans, trimmed
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
  • Lemon juice (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the fat in the pan.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter to the skillet over medium heat and let it warm for about a minute.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Stir in the trimmed green beans and minced garlic, sauté until the green beans are tender yet vibrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste and stir well.
  6. Finally, stir in the crispy bacon and combine thoroughly, drizzle with lemon juice if desired before serving.

Notes

To retain a snap in your green beans, avoid overcooking. They should be bright green and slightly tender.
