An irresistible sweet-and-salty treat made with crunchy pretzels, buttery caramel, melty chocolate, and flaky sea salt, perfect for gifting or parties.

- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups mini pretzels
- 1–2 cups chocolate chips
- Flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment or a silicone mat and arrange pretzels in an even layer.
- Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, then stir in brown sugar and heavy cream until combined.
- Bring to a rolling boil and cook for exactly 3 minutes without stirring, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Pour hot caramel over the pretzels and spread quickly to coat evenly.
- Bake at 400°F (205°C) for 5 minutes until bubbling.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle chocolate chips on top, and let sit for 3-4 minutes to melt, then spread into an even layer.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then chill for at least 1 hour until firm.
- Break into pieces for serving or gifting.
Notes
For a vegan version, replace butter with coconut oil and heavy cream with full-fat coconut milk. For gluten-free, use certified gluten-free pretzels.
