Description

A classic Salisbury Steak recipe topped with rich onion gravy, combining deep savory flavors for the ultimate comfort food experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Fry patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side until deeply browned.
  3. Add sliced onions to the skillet and sauté until soft and golden, about 5 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir for a minute.
  5. Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper, then bring to a simmer.
  6. Return the cooked patties back into the gravy and let simmer for another 10 minutes.
  7. Serve hot over mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley for extra flavor. Make ahead by prepping the patties in advance.
