Description
A classic Salisbury Steak recipe topped with rich onion gravy, combining deep savory flavors for the ultimate comfort food experience.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup sliced onions
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well and form into patties.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Fry patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side until deeply browned.
- Add sliced onions to the skillet and sauté until soft and golden, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir for a minute.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring to avoid lumps. Add soy sauce, salt, and pepper, then bring to a simmer.
- Return the cooked patties back into the gravy and let simmer for another 10 minutes.
- Serve hot over mashed potatoes or rice.
Notes
Garnish with fresh parsley for extra flavor. Make ahead by prepping the patties in advance.
