Description

A gourmet dish featuring a perfectly roasted cauliflower drizzled with a silky mushroom and Gruyère sauce that’s rich, satisfying, and easy to prepare.


Ingredients

  • 1 head of cauliflower, cleaned
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Drizzle the cauliflower with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  3. Roast the cauliflower in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and tender.
  4. While the cauliflower roasts, heat a skillet over medium heat and sauté mushrooms and garlic until tender, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add heavy cream to the skillet and bring to a simmer; stir in Gruyère cheese until melted and smooth. Season with thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Once the cauliflower is done, remove it from the oven and top it generously with the mushroom and cheese sauce. Serve warm.

Notes

For added richness, blend the sauce for a smoother texture or sprinkle with toasted breadcrumbs before serving.
