Description
Irresistibly charming reindeer-shaped cookies filled with jam and decorated with chocolate, perfect for holiday gifting and family baking activities.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- 1/4 cup milk chocolate, for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC (Fan 170ºC/356ºF).
- In a stand mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, folding gently to form a soft dough.
- Roll the dough between two sheets of baking paper to about 6mm thickness.
- Cut circles with a 6cm cookie cutter and cut smaller circles out of half of them to create nose holes.
- Chill the cookies for 30 minutes on a lined baking tray.
- Bake for 11-13 minutes until golden around the edges.
- Let cookies cool, and then pipe jam onto the whole cookies.
- Top with cookies with nose holes, gently pressing them together.
- Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and pipe it onto the cookies for decoration.
- Allow the decorated cookies to set completely before storing in a metal tin.
