- 1 package of puff pastry (or one tube crescent dough)
- 20–24 mini sausages or cocktail franks
- 1 egg + 1 tbsp water for egg wash
- Optional: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, grated cheese, mustard for serving
Instructions
- Thaw puff pastry fully if frozen. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the dough to about 1/8–1/4 inch thickness and cut into uniform strips (1–1.5 inches wide).
- Wrap each sausage with a dough strip, leaving a small seam. Alternate seams for aesthetics.
- On a parchment-lined pan, arrange wrapped sausages into a circle, overlapping slightly to form a wreath.
- Brush the assembled wreath with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
- Bake for 20–28 minutes until golden brown, rotating halfway through for even baking.
- Let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, replace sausages with plant-based alternatives. Chill wrapped sausages briefly to improve flakiness.
