Description

A savory ring of golden pastry wrapped around mini sausages, perfect for sharing at parties.


Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry (or one tube crescent dough)
  • 2024 mini sausages or cocktail franks
  • 1 egg + 1 tbsp water for egg wash
  • Optional: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, grated cheese, mustard for serving

Instructions

  1. Thaw puff pastry fully if frozen. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the dough to about 1/8–1/4 inch thickness and cut into uniform strips (1–1.5 inches wide).
  3. Wrap each sausage with a dough strip, leaving a small seam. Alternate seams for aesthetics.
  4. On a parchment-lined pan, arrange wrapped sausages into a circle, overlapping slightly to form a wreath.
  5. Brush the assembled wreath with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if desired.
  6. Bake for 20–28 minutes until golden brown, rotating halfway through for even baking.
  7. Let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, replace sausages with plant-based alternatives. Chill wrapped sausages briefly to improve flakiness.
