- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Strawberries, for topping
- Passionfruit, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and draw a tree shape on it.
- Beat the egg whites in a clean bowl until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar one tablespoon at a time, mixing until glossy and stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in vanilla extract, vinegar, and cornstarch.
- Spoon the meringue onto the baking sheet, shaping it into a tree with peaks and swirls.
- Bake for about 90 minutes until crisp on the outside and soft inside. Cool in the oven.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Once the meringue is cooled, top with whipped cream and arrange strawberries and passionfruit on top.
Notes
This recipe can be made dairy-free by substituting heavy cream with coconut cream. Make the meringue a day in advance for easy assembly.
