Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients on the countertop.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Create a well and pour in the yogurt and warm water. Mix until dough starts to come together.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1-2 hours, covered with a damp cloth.
  5. Preheat the skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Once risen, divide the dough into 6 equal portions, roll out each portion to about ¼ inch thick.
  7. Cook in the hot skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side until puffy and golden.
  8. Brush with garlic oil after cooking and garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

For a garlic naan, brush with garlic oil immediately after cooking. Customize by adding herbs or cheese before rolling.
