- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons yogurt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh herbs for garnish
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients on the countertop.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Create a well and pour in the yogurt and warm water. Mix until dough starts to come together.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1-2 hours, covered with a damp cloth.
- Preheat the skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once risen, divide the dough into 6 equal portions, roll out each portion to about ¼ inch thick.
- Cook in the hot skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side until puffy and golden.
- Brush with garlic oil after cooking and garnish with fresh herbs.
Notes
For a garlic naan, brush with garlic oil immediately after cooking. Customize by adding herbs or cheese before rolling.
