Description
Lemon Herb Orzo is a flavorful and simple dish made with orzo pasta, fresh herbs, and lemon.
Ingredients

- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 2 cups vegetable broth (or water)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
- 1/4 cup fresh basil (chopped)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring the vegetable broth (or water) to a boil.
- Stir in the orzo pasta and cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Once cooked, drain any excess liquid if necessary and return the orzo to the saucepan.
- In a small skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour the sautéed garlic over the cooked orzo. Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, chopped parsley, chopped basil, and grated Parmesan cheese (if using). Stir well to combine.
- Taste and season with salt and pepper to your liking.
- Transfer the Lemon Herb Orzo to a serving dish and enjoy warm as a side or main dish.
