Description

A comforting low-carb dish featuring hearty meatballs baked in zesty tomato sauce and topped with gooey melted cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (sugar-free)
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix together ground beef, sausage, egg, salt, pepper, onion powder, and Parmesan. Form into meatballs.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over high heat. Sear meatballs until browned on both sides, then remove them from the pan.
  4. In the same pan, add marinara sauce and cook for 10 seconds. Return meatballs to the pan, mix with sauce, and transfer to a baking dish.
  5. Top with mozzarella cheese and bake uncovered for 20 minutes, until cheese is golden and melted.
