- 2 ribeye steaks (approximately 1-inch thick)
- Salt (kosher salt is ideal)
- Black pepper (freshly ground)
- Olive oil
- Garlic (optional, minced)
- Fresh herbs (optional, rosemary or thyme)
- Grilled vegetables (zucchini, bell peppers, corn, optional side)
- Mashed potatoes (optional side)
- A fresh green salad (optional side)
Instructions
- Preheat grill to high heat (approximately 450°F to 500°F).
- Generously season each side of the ribeye with salt and black pepper.
- Let the seasoned steaks sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
- Brush each steak lightly with olive oil and add minced garlic and fresh herbs if desired.
- Place the steaks on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on one side.
- Flip the steaks and continue grilling for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare.
- Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness (aim for 130°F).
- Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

For best results, let the meat rest after grilling to allow juices to redistribute.
