- 1 wheel of Brie cheese
- 2 apples, sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (optional)
- Crackers or bread for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add sliced apples and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar; cook until softened and caramelized (about 5-7 minutes). Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper.
- If using puff pastry, roll it out and place the Brie in the center, wrapping it well.
- Place the Brie (wrapped or unwrapped) on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden and puffy.
- Remove from the oven, top with the caramelized apple mixture, and serve immediately with crackers or bread.
Notes
For an unexpected flavor, add a splash of vanilla or a pinch of cinnamon while caramelizing apples.
