Description

A quick and easy crowd-pleaser, this Golden Baked Brie is topped with sweet caramelized apples and fragrant thyme, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 wheel of Brie cheese
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry (optional)
  • Crackers or bread for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add sliced apples and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar; cook until softened and caramelized (about 5-7 minutes). Stir in thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. If using puff pastry, roll it out and place the Brie in the center, wrapping it well.
  4. Place the Brie (wrapped or unwrapped) on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden and puffy.
  5. Remove from the oven, top with the caramelized apple mixture, and serve immediately with crackers or bread.

Notes

For an unexpected flavor, add a splash of vanilla or a pinch of cinnamon while caramelizing apples.
