Garlic Butter Pan Seared Pork Chops Recipe


Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary (or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving, optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Add the pork chops to the skillet in a single layer. Sear for about 4–5 minutes on one side without moving them, until they develop a golden-brown crust.
  4. Flip the pork chops and cook for an additional 4–5 minutes on the other side, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside to rest.
  5. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for about 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently, until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden.
  6. Stir in the thyme and rosemary, cooking for an additional 30 seconds.
  7. Return the pork chops to the skillet, spooning the garlic butter sauce over them to coat.
  8. Transfer the pork chops to plates, drizzle with the garlic butter sauce, and serve with lemon wedges if desired.
