A quick, one-skillet meal capturing the delicious flavors of an egg roll with crisp cabbage, savory pork, and bright sesame-ginger aromatics.

- 450 g (1 lb) ground pork
- 400 g (14 oz) napa cabbage, shredded
- 120 g (1 cup) shredded carrot
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 30 g (2 tbsp) fresh ginger, finely grated
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) low-sodium soy sauce
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) rice vinegar
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) hoisin sauce
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) toasted sesame oil
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) neutral oil
- 1/2 tsp Diamond Crystal kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Optional: chopped cilantro, chopped scallions, sesame seeds, chili oil for garnish
Instructions
- Prep the vegetables and aromatics.
- Heat the oil in the skillet and brown the pork.
- Push the pork to the side and add onion to sauté.
- Add garlic and ginger, cooking until aromatic.
- Add cabbage and carrot; season and sauté.
- Stir in sauces and let reduce.
- Remove from heat and finish with sesame oil; garnish and serve.
Notes
For a low-carb version, substitute hoisin sauce with coconut aminos and erythritol. For a vegetarian option, use firm tofu or lentils.
