Description

Delicious crispy shrimp coated in a sweet and savory honey glaze, ready in just 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and tools. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels to ensure maximum crispiness. Set up your baking sheet lined with paper towels.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper until well combined. Set aside.
  3. Place cornstarch in another bowl and toss the shrimp until thoroughly coated.
  4. In a frying pan over medium-high heat, add enough oil to cover the bottom (about 1 inch). Heat oil until it reaches approximately 350°F.
  5. Carefully add coated shrimp to the hot oil in a single layer. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Flip halfway through.
  6. Once cooked, remove shrimp from oil and drain on paper towels. Toss immediately in the honey mixture while still hot.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve immediately.

Notes

Maintain proper oil temperature for the best results. Fry in batches to avoid steaming.
