Description

An irresistibly comforting Cheesy Ground Beef & Potato Bake recipe with layered potatoes, savory ground beef, and a creamy, cheesy topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional spices (garlic powder, paprika)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients (5 minutes): Dice your onion and slice your potatoes into thin rounds.
  2. Brown the ground beef (10-15 minutes): In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Add the chopped onion until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Prepare the soup mixture (5 minutes): In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, and optional spices. Stir until smooth.
  4. Layer your bake (15 minutes): In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes, followed by half of the beef mixture, and then half of the cheese. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  5. Add the soup mixture (5 minutes): Pour the soup mixture evenly over the top of your layers.
  6. Bake (75 minutes): Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 1 hour. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Rest and serve (5 minutes): Let it cool for a few minutes for easier serving.
